The Forever Winter is a single-player action game set in a post-apocalyptic world where massive mechs clash over trenches littered with bodies. It’s an online co-op extraction shooter game with horror elements, where players take on the role of a survivor. It’s developed by Fun Dog Studios.

The Forever Winter is similar to games like Warframe, The First Descendant, World War Z, and Remnant 2 wherein it gives players a third-person co-op shooter game experience. In this game, your goal is to collect loot while staying out of sight of the soldiers and machines battling for control of the military superpowers.

Loot the dead to survive 

The Forever Winter presents a grim vision of the future in which ecological disasters and out-of-control technological progress have led to the outbreak of a great war between two military superpowers. After 40 years, the conflict only intensifies, and both sides spare no effort to defeat their enemies, sending ruthless automatons controlled by AI and gigantic war machines into battle.  

Rather than aligning with either superpower, you play as a lone survivor struggling to stay alive. Your main objective is to gather as much loot as possible and make it to the evacuation point in one piece. Players have access to a wide array of firearms and melee weapons, all of which can be upgraded and customized to fit their needs. 

The game offers four distinct maps and five unique characters, each with their own backstories and playstyles. It features PvE gameplay, where teams can consist of up to four players or AI bots if real players aren’t available. Solo players can hire recruitable NPC companions, allowing them to issue commands to their squad. However, the game does not include a tutorial, leaving players to learn its complex mechanics on their own.
